what we offer

Manx Cancer Help offers a series of free, confidential sessions, both face to face and over the phone to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis. You do not need a doctor’s referral and we try to keep waiting time to a minimum.

We can provide specialist emotional and psychological support in line with NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence). This is delivered by fully trained and accredited staff in the specialist field of psycho-oncology. Psycho-oncology is concerned with the relationship between cancer and the mind. Psycho coming from the Greek psyche, meaning soul or mind and oncology from the Greek onkos (a mass), meaning the study of cancer.

This service was set up to meet a clearly identified need on the Isle of Man and we are pleased to be working with the Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association who provide the funding for Professor Robin Davidson, Consultant Clinical Psychologist who travels to the Island for two days a month and is the Clinical Lead for the service.
